Chelsea - The Victorious Welcome

Painting the town blue and that perfectly describe the scene at South West of London, as Chelsea fans thronged out in their thousands to welcome and cheer their heroes after winning the Champions League Cup at the expense of host finalist Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena. The Champions League Cup has been long coveted by the Russian Chelsea owner Roman Abrahamovich . Before the finals Chelsea has won every trophy but the Champions League. Abrahamovich has invested about £900m in acquiring plethora of football talent across the globe, but at last he would be glad that his financial imput has yielded the desired dividend.I began to feel the air of celebration right from the train carriage, well, I was coming from another end of London going towards the South West. I started to see the Chelsea fan from Earl Court station as the trains were already jam packed with Chelsea fan sing and chanting away vociferously.

On arriving at the destination, that is Fulham Broadway station , you could see fans trying to move out slowly as the station's platform was overcrowded and I had to wait for good ten minute before finding my way out of the station. The route the open air bus parading the heroes had been mention on the television during the presentation ceremony,so had a perfect idea where they would be passing bye. The bus route was from Fulham Broadway to New King Road and end up at Parsons Green by the Chelsea Park.

On getting to my chosen spot (New King Road), there were quite a number of fans waiting to get good glimpse of the Chelsea stars,while some climbed on lamp post, tree of any object that will give them a very good view.

Then the waiting game started and it wasn't comfortable waiting,considering the fact that i am not Chelsea fan but the fact that they are the first London team to win the Champions League, it was worth worth the wait. The team open air bus passed bye it was a huge applause, shouting and whistling.The team bus eventually stopped by the Chelsea park where the player took time out to express their appreciation and initiating various chant and songs. It was a very memorable occasion particularly for the faith Chelsea fans who have waited this long for the Champions League trophy. I have included some pictures and video recording. I have also included the Chelsea song which the fan sang which so much pride, If you are a Chelsea fan, you must listen to the Chelsea song.
